The EPICtorial SAGA of a Dwarven Ranger - Part 2

As she rides through the land, accompanied by a wise scholar, the dwarven ranger makes an attempt to free the world of Fantasy Quest from tyranny...

Last week, the editorial board of La Taverne du Jeu published the first part of an EPICtorial session report featuring an adventurous dwarven ranger wandering in the land of Fantasy Quest.
The heroin of the story was ordered to bring down a malevolent tyrant.
She began her quest alone, but received rapidly the help of the inhabitants of the land, that gave her the opportunity to ride a noble mount. The adventuring life is so much easier when you can rely on a trusty horse to travel further and faster!

After having achieved some subquests absolutely unrelated to her main objective, as required by the tradition of roleplay games, the dwarven ranger started to feel migthy enough to make an attempt at accomplishing her SAGA.

Let us read together wether she will manage to save the land from the evil grip of the tyrant or be slain by his innumerable henchmen.

The EPICtorial SAGA of a Dwarven Ranger - Part 1

After having given a first peek at the gorgeous Fantasy Quest (see here), I also entered in the beta testing process. This explains why I did not wrote any preview on the game... for now!

Among the several played game sessions, one of them was fully rewritten as a pictorial report.

Meanwhile, I sold my soul to the wealthy La Taverne du Jeu, or at least my articles.
You know what, they give me free games. Ok, they are not free, since I have to write articles in exchange. Whatever... I was used to write articles about games I was paying for.

So...

The editorial board of La Taverne du Jeu is proud to announce the publication of some EPICtorial sessions reports...

We are pleased to give you the opportunity to read the legendary tale of a lone dwarven ranger questing throughout the land of Fantasy Quest in order to save it from the evil grip of a malevolent tyrant.

Well... at least, you will be able to read the first part of this legendary tale...

We are back !

zanlou and I had holydays for a full month in Brittany, far from the world wide web and this blog.
But we did not only slept on the beach, under the burning light of the sun.
We worked a lot and built many Print and Play games.

We even found the time to playtest and review some of them.

Moreover, we managed to write drafts for a couple of pictorial session reports.

Finally, we even achieved another too long delayed project: writing tactical articles about some games.
As a consequence, be prepared to a year full of forhtcoming articles about many wonderful board games !

An eventful journey down the Anduin - A Lord of the Rings: The Card Game EPICtorial session report

Dear readers,

The second scenario from the Lord of the Rings: The Card Game Core Set has given a hard time to many players. Some have asked me to publish a session report showing methods enabling to overcome the traps thrown on your way, or rather, on your river, by the game designers.

Managing to handle this quest as a single player is relatively difficult. Moreover, the decks are not consistent enough (or very fun). Thus, I invited zanlou in this adventure. He will use a Leadership + Lore dual-sphere deck intented to provide support to the main Spirit/tactics deck dedicated to solve quests while hitting monsters.

The Hill Troll slaughter season opens just now...

The embedded file only deals with the first part of the quest (mainly due to the already huge file size). The following of that session report will be published in a forthcoming post!
